Direct download links for Windows 7 beta iso surface!
While the Microsoft servers continue to struggle with the massive amount of traffic, there might just be a solution for you: direct download links for both the 32 and 64 bit ISO images.
You'll still need to go back for a key, assuming you want to use the beta for more than 30 days, but at least you'll be able to burn a DVD or mount the ISO in your favorite virtualization app. Alternatively, there are plenty of timer reset and watermark removal tools available on the various torrent trackers.

Windows 7 Beta (x86) : 7000.0.081212-1400_client_en-us_Ultimate-GB1CULFRE_EN_DVD.ISO
Windows 7 Beta (x64) : 7000.0.081212-1400_client_en-us_Ultimate-GB1CULXFRE_EN_DVD.ISO
See if you have luck with the direct links. Currently it's working for me, and fairly fast as well - about 340kb/s.You'll still need to go back for a key, assuming you want to use the beta for more than 30 days, but at least you'll be able to burn a DVD or mount the ISO in your favorite virtualization app. Alternatively, there are plenty of timer reset and watermark removal tools available on the various torrent trackers.

Very nice find; I hate downloading off public trackers and so I appreciate this a lot.

Link worked instantly for me AND I'm receiving at (my) full bandwidth (5Mbps)...
ZachJan 9th 2009 5:03PM
Both ur links are identical....looks like they both point to the 64 bit version.
The 32bit version is GB1CULFRE (no X in it)
Lee MathewsJan 9th 2009 5:04PM
Fixed! Thanks, Zach!

@Lee:
The links have been corrected, but the x86 label still reads
...GB1CULXFRE_EN_DVD.ISO
As Zach said earlier
'The 32bit version is GB1CULFRE (no X in it)'

/currently DLing OK.

Thank you! Downloading the 32 bit one at 700kb/s+ and have the 64 bit one queued.
Dont really care for Windows, but might as well play with this in Fusion. Who knows maybe replace Vista Ultimate on my Boot Camp partition.

I totally missed out on the Windows 7 download opportunity. Would anyone be willing to surrender theirs to me?
Thanks,
Rich Fulton

Chrome is giving me a
Error 8 (net::ERR_FILE_TOO_BIG): Unknown error.
whenever I try to download it.
Wait... It works in Firefox.

Yeah, I've seen that bug in Chrome before too. Chrome can't handle really big files yet... I keep meaning to bug it.
DWilliJan 9th 2009 5:25PM
I mean, within 30 days, the mess on the Windows site should be cleared...I can live with temporary unverified-ness.

Wow, great, thanks. It crashed dTa (and my Firefox session), but Firefox's built-in download manager works fine. Out of curiosity, is the key only available today?
