- Always cc a person's superior when you email them about work that needs to be done.
- Feel free to use the "reply all" button.
- Use ALL CAPS to get your point across.
Some additional tips just for you DLS readers:
- Your boss works really hard. When you email him or her you should always include some smileys or other emoticons to let them know how you're feeling. It will brighten their day a little too. :-)
- Evry1 nos how 2 txt so it is ok 2 use txt in email. It's faster and easier and everyone does it so, go right ahead.
- People love chain letters so forward that one with the dancing puppies and mariachi music to the entire company. Everyone will love it.
- Create a cute email signature with dancing gifs, pictures of your kids or a quote about how much you love to shop. It will really personalize your work communications.
Remember, even though it's only email, it reflects you. Make sure you use email properly just like any other business tool.

When emailing people outside your company, always make sure that the 'From:' line contains only your real name and nothing that gives away the name or business of your employers.
Always leave the subject line blank, or at least use a bland phrase such as 'For your attention'.
Always ask for a Read Receipt however irrelevant your email. Nothing wins the approval of your recipients more than planting the idea that you suspect they will bin the email without reading it.

A little off topic, but how much do you want to bet that one of those sticky notes has his password on it?

I think unfortunately, they are all blank. Very wasteful but a successful attempt at annoying coworkers I'm sure.

Don't forget to add several paragraphs of legal disclaimers that ensure that the recipient of a misdirected email will notify the sender, delete all copies of the message and refrain from forwarding the content (see Chain Letter suggestion).

Excellent point Geoff. I always love to see all that at the bottom of an email.

Don't forget to add a footer urging the reader to consider the environment before printing the email.
