Appnr is a web-based directory of applications for Ubuntu Linux. You can also launch Ubuntu's package manager to install any application on the site with a click of a button.

- The software description pages are much more informative than the brief, text-only descriptions you'll find in the Synaptic package manger.

Wow! A perfect webapp !! I hope there is a similar app with all freeware apps for Windows and Mac too. With one-click install !!!

www.filehippo.com, is the equivalent but not nearly as complete as this for Linux. I am definitely impressed with this. If any one doubts the power of open -source, they should now be convinced of its power.
