"...Thinking about picking up a new T-Mobile G1, but want to know how big it is first?"

I played with one for about an hour last Monday and I must say G1s are way smaller than I thought! They are SMALLER than an iPhone if that helps anyone with their buying decision. Here it is in my regular sized hand and note my pinky finger at bottom of phone for scale:
