You can broadcast live with a microphone and live input compatible sound card or a playlist of digital audio files. Your station will put you back only $40 for the software. In any event, Pirate Radio puts the onus on you to be in compliance with the laws of your broadcast area.
Yah, sure there are other ways (some free) to get your pirate station on, but Pirate Radio is turnkey and it has an awesome name.

For free:
Winamp with the shoutcast plugin.
And that is better than this rip-off software.

Hah, Just let RIAA (and other governing entinties) find you broadcasting live or on-demand. So, you wanna be a pirate broadcaster, go to Disney where all the other toon's live! These folks (RIAA) take playing different artists music without paying your "dues" seriously and will go for you VERY quickly. If you own the rights to your "broadcast", it's your thoughts and verbiage, you are fine, if not, you may have a problem that will cost you thousands! As Dolores Parker expoused,
