Lame....it's still showing version 2 as of 9AM CDT.
JamesJun 17th 2008 10:30AM
RTFP, my friend -- if you look closely enough you'll see an official kickoff time, and 9am CDT is not it.

I appreciate your cander; however, I must say that I've already downloaded it for OSX. It's still unavailable otherwise.
WillJun 17th 2008 10:24AM
well www.filehipo.com is already giving ff3
topbar1Jun 17th 2008 11:33AM
File hippo is actually providing RC2. Look at the build date in Help About and file creation dates in the file archive.
If you download this and not Fx3 (final, gold, ...) when it is released, then you are also hurting the Fx Guinness Record goal.

Good point. Wait until the official site has the download available, that's the only way to know that you're going gold.

has there been a google toolbar version released for FF3 yet? I got the del.icio.us beta and it works great in FF3

"...you can be one of them and a part of a world record."
Really? Just this once, I can be part of a marketing campaign? Truly my prayers have been answered!
zkamJun 17th 2008 10:58AM
I'm not downloading it until the portable version is available (http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable), and even if they make it available today, will it be counted towards the total downloads?
ToddJun 17th 2008 11:19AM
Doesn't start until 10 AM pacific time! Wait until then spazoids.
IanJun 17th 2008 12:13PM
Right 10am pacific June 17 = June 18 in much of Asia.
Really think Mozilla marketing is poor here; they've been hyping June 17 as "download day" but it isn't, unless you happen to be on the west coast of the US. This is no way to set a record.
Why aren't they either using the international dateline or gmt/utc?
cowboy_kJun 17th 2008 12:26PM
10:00 PT = 13:00 ET = 15:00 UTC/GMT. I wish more times were announced this way - I happen to live in one of the few spots in North America that doesn't do daylight savings, so I've pretty much given up on remembering time zone conversions. Being a sysadmin, though, I remember my GMT offset quite easily (GMT-0600 FTW!)
cowboy_kJun 17th 2008 12:28PM
arrrgh... I must be sleep deprived... or stupid... or something... that should be 17:00 UTC/GMT, not 15:00. Time for some caffeine...
StijnJun 17th 2008 12:56PM
I believe I'm in GMT+1 and it's not till 1900 here.
So I think GMT is 1800.

Can anyone tell me if it's ok to simply download FF3 over the top of FF2? Or is not that easy?
brookPTJun 17th 2008 1:29PM
FF3 Final version already available on Softpedia,http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Browsers/Mozilla-Firefox-Final.shtml
