But here's the problem with that point:
"Drilling in the ANWR would not show any immediate effects to gas prices."
It wouldn't have had to show any "immediate effects" if we had done it when we needed to, and we would have, if the elected had any foresight at all. The Republicans didn't stick to their guns on the issue, because they want everybody to like them, and two years later, the "First 100 Democrat Days" Congress has done NOTHING.
We have no legislative energy policy in an emergency (real or perceived), they've done nothing on Iraq as they said they would. Instead, they whine about wanting hearings on everything BUT the actual, critical issues.
Now that they're back in power, they're all about petty squabbling and gotcha politics. They're all worthless, and all three political candidates are from the same do-nothing swamp.
We need responses and ideas, and instead we get warm, fuzzy platitudes like "hope." We hear about "experience" from old and young elitists who HAVE NO CONVICTIONS. They're all three nothing but brand names, spouting what people want to hear as they search for a Messiah.
I don't know who disgusts me more; the candidates or anyone stupid enough to vote for them.
