Download Paragon Hard Disk Manager 8 SE for free

There are things you definitely don't want to get after their expiration date. Milk, egg, and bread come to mind. But then there are Power Bars and other processed foods that taste exactly the same years after their expiration date has come and gone. Not that we'd know.
It turns out you can get a free copy of Paragon Hard Disk Manager that's a little past its prime as well. Although the free offer was supposed to expire in April, if you visit the Paragon site to register your product and download your software from Computer Active, you can get a fully licensed copy of this Windows application which would normally set you back around $50.
Paragon has a couple of useful features. First, you can use the software to create, delete, or resize partitions on your hard drive. But you can also use it to create or restore images of your entire disk or copy the entire hard drive to another disk. Here are a few more features:
-
Merge partitions
-
Redistribute free space
-
Schedule backups
-
Differential backups
-
Copy partitions
-
Explore disc images
This offer could expire at any time. There are also plenty of free disk partitioning apps out there, but few have has many features or are as easy to use as Paragon's software. But if all you need is a simple partitioning tool, you might want to check out Parted Magic, which can be run from a LiveCD or a USB flash drive.

Hey, dude, the site says : "Expires April 11, 2007"
Furthermore, the download link doesn't do anything, even when you ...Save As...
Are you running of blog content or did I miss something?
jfjbMay 22nd 2008 5:26PM
I meant "running out of" blog contents, of course.
jfjbMay 22nd 2008 5:28PM
I was talking about Paragon product on Computer Active site... were you too?
jfjbMay 22nd 2008 5:29PM
( grinning, as in smiling )

Worked this morning, which is how we downloaded it and grabbed the screenshot you see here. But as we stated in the post, it was only a matter of time before someone disabled the download.

Whereas, the Parted Magic software is, open quotes, Parted Magic is a Linux LiveCD/USB/PXE with its elemental purpose being to partition hard drives... end of quotes.
Not a Windows application, as the other Product (Paragon, right?)

thanks, Brad, to remind me of ma lack of patience ( sigh ), you have more will power than me.
Next time I'll bite the bullet and remember how it was in the early 80s...
This baby finally responded -- I had it 'redial' the DL in the background -- at a magical speed of 14KB/s, yep, on a T3 connection.
Now, what can I do with this application, again?
(wink)

Seems to only work with XP, not on vista

Worked for me on XP just a moment ago- Registered at Paragon, got their email with the key, downloaded app just fine.

I tried everything, and it wouldnt download, it just sits there waiting to download but nothing happened. So i used good old reliable WGET to grab the file, although it could only manage an averabe of between 6-10K/s on a 100Mb/s connection (optical edu link). Thats poor... oh well, it only has an ETA of 56:00 minutes. lol

Well, the computeractive.co.uk link seems to be dead. It returns a proxy error for me and CoralCDN has no success either (gateway timeout). Could any of you fine people who managed to grab the file upload it somewhere? I already got the e-mail with the SN from paragon.

Try Googling "Paragon Hard Disk Manager 8 - Computeractive" - the link is dead but
click in Googles 'cache' link -- that'll give you a past active page.
Search down until you find the 'download now' link. This worked for me a few minutes
ago. Then go register at Paragon's site:

Good luck.

Almost two weeks since the last post, but you can still download and register this. I saw links over at http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=560456.
Like this post says, register at http://kb.paragon-software.com/paragon/scripts/freelink/en/index.jsp?product_id=2745
then download the file from http://www.vnudownloads.com/hdm8_se-20070203-0000-en.exe
The OC Forums link also lists registration and download links for Paragon Partition Manager 8.5 Special Edition.
