Introducing an occasional series - Download Pod
We spend a lot of time in front of our computers. But when we finally step away, you know what we like to do? Relax with a good book. No, just kidding! We download digital media from our computers and enjoy it on the go. With that in mind, today we're starting an occasional series bringing you reviews of some of our favorite audio and video podcasts.
We're going to try to avoid the big names at the top of the iTunes charts and bring you some of the more obscure podcasts we think are worth listening to. But that doesn't mean we won't don't love us some Science Friday from NPR or Diggnation. It just means that you're probably already well aware of them. We'd rather tell you about the Naked Scientists, Digital Planet, and Love & Radio.
If you have suggestions for podcasts you think we should check out, let us know in the comments. And stay tuned for our first irregularly scheduled review.

You simply MUST listen to and do a review of Lug Radio;

...unless of course DLS corporate sponsor forbid it, or some ambulance chaser from Microsoft threatens to sue you into the stone age just for listening to those guys.

Without question, Escape Pod ( http://www.escapepod.org ) is one of the most important podcasts I listen to. It's brilliant sci-fi short fiction, and the only thing I don't like about it is that they don't release two stories a day, seven days a week.
Beyond that, another top pick is The Skeptic's Guide to the Universe ( http://theskepticsguide.org ) which is great for debunking psuedoscience and is also a good source of science news in general.
And finally (well, not finally, but the three that come to mind at the moment), Infected by Scott Sigler ( http://scottsigler.com ) is a fantastic new novel (available in hardcover) that is also being podcast by the author. The book has a great eye for science and technology, while being an entertaining mix of horror and sci-fi. I'm really enjoying it so far.

RadioLab from WNYC is very interesting (it's on NPR's directory of podcasts).
