Organize your music collection with TagScanner
If you've got about a dozen MP3s or other digital music files on your computer, odds are you don't have too much trouble keeping them organized. But if you've got a few thousand, it can be hard to find what you're looking for unless each track is properly named and tagged. While popular music players like Windows Media Player, iTunes, Foobar2000 and Media Monkey will check online databases to find the appropriate metadata for songs you download or rip from a CD, sometimes mistakes occur. TagScanner can help clean up the mess.
TagScanner is a free Windows application that gives you a variety of tools for organizing your digital music collection. You can import tag information from freedb.org, Amazon, or TrackType.org. you can also generate tags from files and foldernames, or rename your files based on tag information. The application supports a wide variety of formats:

From the third sentence on the product page:
"Also you may get album info via online databases like freedb or Amazon. Supports ID3v1, ID3v2, Vorbis comments, APEv2, WindowsMedia and MP4(iTunes) tags"
So, yes.

How about album cover? iTunes does this automagically and nicely, but load the same tunes on a different DAP (Say the Zune) and bam, it's no longer there.
If there is a automagic program that handles auto tagging and auto high-res album covers, then I'll be a happy camper.

Tag & Rename

I'll give this program a try. I tried the demo version of Tag&Rename and it does the job as well but it costs money ($39.99 USD IIRC). I like the fact that this program is donation-based, and would rather donate the $40 than be forced to pay it.

For all the Linux-goers, try Ex Falso. It makes sense.

I've been using this for a loooong time ago. Believe me, it does what it does, very very well!

I keep getting '202 error Disc not found' (not exact wording). And this is for CDs I ripped myself (my own collection, btw; no thievery). Any ideas?
Also, do I really have to select one album at a time? :_( I have over 3500 mp3s, many not properly categorized. (I know, bad planning on my part at the beginning.) Is there another way?? PLEASE??
