Breakaway: Automatically pause your music when headphones are unplugged
Breakaway is the kind of tool that begs the question, "why didn't anyone think of this before?"Simply stated, Breakaway will automatically pause your iTunes music anytime your headphones are unplugged.
We can see this as useful in two ways:
One, you won't have to suffer any more embarrassment when your headphones come unplugged and everyone becomes privy to the Rocky 3 soundtrack (we don't know about you, but "Eye of the Tiger" really gets our creative juices flowing).
Two, well, hmm...
Okay, so Breakaway is a one-trick pony. But it's a handy trick.
Breakaway is a free download, and requires Mac OS X.

Actually, no, it's in the new iPod nano at least, too. Gaah, happens to me way too much.
And, if it's in the new nano, I would guess it would be in the classic.

Actually, it is even in my 4th gen iPod Photo.

is there a Windows alternative for this? the Realtek audio drivers can tell when you unplug/plug in an audio jack so it doest seem like it would be that hard to add a pause function.

Once piece of software I do not want. Wait. I'm not an elitest who feels the need to impress everyone by running a Mac or that horrible abortion of a program known as iTunes.
