JDownloader download manager for RapidShare
If you download a lot of files from free file hosting sites like RapidShare and MegaUpload, but are tired of entering Captchas and waiting for your downloads to begin, jDownloader can help. jDownloader is a download manager that works with both sites, plus a few others. It lets you queue up a bunch of files which it will then proceed to download in the background. It can even read Captchas, which means you don't have to be near your computer when the downloads start.
The program does have a few quirks. First, jDownloader requires Java to run and you don't install it like a regular Windows application. Rather, you download and extract the contents of a ZIP file and then click the jDownloader.jar file to start the program.
Second, jDownloader's file menus are all in German. You can change the language to English, but you'll still find a few German words scattered around. In case you don't speak German, here's how to change the language:

- Under Sprache, select English
- Hit the Speichern und neu starten button to save and restart in English

- Check the boxes next to any file hosting service you expect to use.

The real question though is, does this get around the one download every 24 hours limitation?
JayFeb 18th 2008 1:04PM
Ive found the only way you can get around that if you have a dynamic IP is if you disable then re-enable your WAN, it should let you download your next part.

It doesn't get around it, it's meant for users who have an account. I use Rapget myself though. If you don't have an account it can probably wait an hour on each file, Rapget can anyway.

It's alot easier to just buy premium account, it isn't that expensive when you consider how much you will be downloading.

Just to drop by a note,
RSConsole is a Rapidshare.com Premium file download accelerator and scheduler for Linux, Unix and BSD.
I've just tried it, and it works like a charm. Probably the best Rapidshare Premium downloader around that's open source.
You can find it here:

Great, i wish that it has automated retry the disable link and set it to enable and reset the status and try to download the file again. I find i should enable the link and reset the link status manually. Would you please fix the problem. And what is the pluggin? Is there any pluggins for JDownloader out there? I'd like to have it, at least one...
