Frostwire: Limewire's open source cousin
Limewire is one of the most popular Peer to Peer file sharing applications around, and it's easy to see why. With its simple but powerful interface, it's the next best thing to old school Napster. One thing that cheapskates and teenagers don't like about it, however, is its tendency to nag the user to upgrade to Limewire Pro for a fee.Enter Frostwire. virtually indiscernible from Limewire, this program works just fine. It allows the user to download just about any kind of file from a massive community of Limewire and Gnutella users. Hypothetically it's possible to get copyrighted music as well, but you'd never even think about such a thing, we're sure.
Frostwire is available for Windows, OS X, and Linux. Ubuntu and Debian users can grab it from Synaptic, and everyone else can check out the download site.

Dude, if being on CNET Download.com's Top 20 since like forever is your idea of "staying under the radar" I guess I shouldn't mention Bittorrent in fear of it becoming "mainstream"...

So it is. I never check out Cnet so I didn't know how popular it's become =/
oh well, I only use it for single songs. Usenet is my main girl ;)

**IF YOU ARE OR KNOW SOMEONE WHO IS SUFFERING FROM A MORAL DEFICIENCY DO NOT READ BELOW**
Limewire Free = Lots of ads
Limewire Pro = No ads, faster, nicer =), costs money =(
Limewire Free downloads anything, including programs...
Limewire Pro is a program....
2+2=5
Just use bitTorrent, its much more fun... or so I've read online... ya... thats it

I always thought it was mildly hilarious that you could download LimeWire Pro using basic LimeWire and end the nagging.
But yeah, BitTorrent sure is the thang now'days.
Shout out to OiNK. R.I.P.

That Vista-blue with a brown window border aren't exactly the most pleasing to look at colors, but yeah, Frostwire is a nice program. Rather would use KTorrent (or uTorrent when I'm in Windows) for Bittorrent functionality as it's much lighter than Java.

i havent used limewire/kazaa in like ... forever but i was wondering, are all those RIAA lawsuits from people downloading via limewire or have some of them been from torrents?
