Chat Noir - Time Waster
Chat Noir is one of those games that looks really easy until you actually play it. You know, like chess. OK, maybe not like chess, but still, we dare you to beat this Flash game on your first try. Or your tenth. The rules are pretty simple. Try to prevent the cat from leaving the board. All you have to do is click a bright green spot to make it dark green and fence the cat in. Every time you click a spot, the cat gets to move one space.
After wasting about half of the morning, we can now definitively tell you that the game is beatable.

Pretty fun. Without trying very hard I seem to beat it once out of every three tried. The cat seems to try to head for the square that is the fewest moves to an exit point. The hardest move to predict is the first one....pretty well no matter what you do, he'll go the opposite way.

Joe - I was winning about 1 in 3 or 1 in 4 also. There does seem to be a fair amount of luck based on guessing where his first move will be and the placement of the starting "blocks"

I'm sorry to say it (yeah, right!), but I boxed the cat in on my 3rd try. Your profuse warnings probably made me concentrate harder, though :)

ditto :)

Sorry guys, I beat it on try numero uno. (aka number one). It was fun while it lasted though!

I also beat it on the first try. I guess you just have to think a few moves ahead like in chess.

Yeah, you guys suck. I got it on the second try (the first try was me figuring out what to do.)

I beat it on my first try as well. Just fenced the little guy in quickly and he couldn't get out. Really easy game. Seriously though, I think I'd actually have to TRY to lose.

OK, this just proves what I've suspected all along. Most Download Squad readers are far smarter than me. Either that or you spend way too much time playing time wasters. :)

Alright, now I feel real dumb! I can't seem to beat this and I don't often have issues. So HELP!

2nd try here.

I beat it he first time, and most of the time after that. It is a fun game, but it would be better if there was an increasing difficulty curve (maybe less blocks initially given or something)

That was one of the EASIEST games I have ever played!!

First try too ;)
(unless you "win" after beating some number of levels)
The path finding algorythm they use is pretty easily beatable, though. you just draw it into a situation you can easily block and it takes the cat a while to get out of.

the first time I tried this I lost, but I was making a chain, following my own dots. you can put your green dots anywhere, not sure how you can't win at this. mabye the cat should move 2 spaces

Yeah i was preening my ego after winning on the first try as well....then i lost about 10 in a row.
