SeeToo: Broadcast yourself. To one other person.
SeeToo is a new service, currently in private beta, that lets you show your video to one other person - in real time. Just install a client, choose a video from your PC, and send a link to the person you want to share the video with. When they click the link, they'll go to a web page showing your movie and you can both watch it at the same time, and chat in a little chat window below the video.
SeeToo facilitates the whole thing, but doesn't store your video on a server. So you're not actually leaving a video on the internet for the whole world to find. Of course, if you send the link to your friend and then turn your computer off, they'll also be unable to watch the video.
The company plans to launch a public beta by the end of the year.

Hey a couple years ago, on some blog(I THINK it was Download Squad(might've been Engadget) there was some sort of app that lets people watch/sync DVD's over the net(provided both clients have a copy of the dvd) and have a chat type thing between em, anyone remember/know what this app's called?
I know it's possible to upload a dvd to this and share it like that, but uploading a 700MB file? that'd take like 2 hours :/
Back on topic, I find this a smart idea, as some people don;t know, youtube actually has a service similar to this(although without video syncing) in the Labs/Beta section there's a live chat type video viewing system.

There's also GigaTribe, which lets you share and exchange large files (such as home videos), within a private community of friends and family. You decide who has access to what folders on your computer!

I don't know gigatribe, but I know and tried some other similar services. A 30 minutes video of my son's birthday, captured by my Canon digicam, requires about 200MB. It takes more than 2 hours to upload (or email) it and my parents', for instance, won't even watch it ;-). I tried this seetoo thingy as a beta user and it is really awesome. I've selected the video file from my computer, sent a link to my parents via email and after 10 seconds it was playing on both ends!!! We were talking on the phone and I could hear them getting really excited. Moreover, they could control the video themselves so we've saw some parts over and over again… My fear is that I will have to do it often, too often;-)

I just installed SeeToo and shared 30 mins of video clips we took down at Cancun last spring break.
I shared the footage with some close friend, man that was fast! And the best part, the footage is not floating around the internet right now…
