iTunes 7.5 released

Per the Apple's Software Update utility:
"iTunes 7.5 features the ability to activate iPhone wherever service is offered and support for Phase, a new interactive music game designed exclusively for iPod nano (third generation), iPod classic, and iPod (fifth generation). This release also includes bug fixes to improve stability and performance."
Additionally, a 7.3 update to QuickTime is available as well. 7.3 is bundled with the iTunes download, but is also available individually.
Again, per Apple's Software Update utility:
QuickTime 7.3 addresses critical security issues and delivers:
- Support for iTunes 7.5
- Updated support for creating iPhone-compatible web content
- Updated JavaScript support in the QuickTime Web Plug-in
- Numerous bug fixes
This release is recommended for all QuickTime 7 users.
QuickTime 7.2 was causing lots of problems with Windows Vista, which we hope the newest update will resolve.

You know what this iTunes did?.. it added a ringtones section in the source bar... just to taunt us Canadians :'(.

iTunes releases an update every time you fire the damn application up. The more I use this program the more I want a Zune.

you will download it weather you know it or not. with in one hour, Quicktime started downloading iTunes three times without asking me. i ended up uninstalling Quicktime.
and yes Apple is just as bad as Microsoft now. if not worse...

For someone like me who runs Windows, and doesn't own any iPod model, I have long stopped updating iTunes. It's not worth it. There are no new, essential or cool features for people like me, except Apple updating their lockdown on their DRM. (Yes, I use a de-DRM app on my iTunes song purchases.)

I HATE iTunes!
WMP 11 is by far the most stable and well-working media playing/managing program at the moment.
It's design is simplified, it does better media playback than iTunes, has more online stores, more media devices work with it, etc. I can even sync my iPod with it (legit : http://www.mgtek.com/dopisp/ )
iTunes needs constant updates, crappy on Windows, menu is confusing, and it's a large memory hog! Seriously, the only thing worth on it, is the content in the iTunes store.
iTunes just sucks.

Jaymez, you hit the nail on the head.
How is this bloatware at all elegant Mr. Jobs?

I am so sick of iTunes, every update screws with my Podcast subscription, not to mention that it only makes another issue on my vista machine. This time around its making certain videos play sort of in fast forward, and you have to screw around with pausing and starting the video at different points to make it play normal.
iTunes is becoming as bad as Adobe Acrobat when it comes to updates, they seem to happen every few days. I dont know when i have viewed a pdf and havnt been pestered to update. At least Windows Media Player is stable.

ditched iTunes for mediamonkey a long time ago, never EVER going back. So much faster and more efficient. iTunes is one of the biggest resource hogs i've ever seen, maybe the mac version is better, but on windows it adds a handful of applications that are always running in the background slowing your system down, and if you have a music library like I do, iTunes fails miserably just like the iPod I had to sell.
Seriously don't fill your iPod all the way with music, it will become slow and crappy and annoying to use.
I WANT to give the new iPod a chance (I had the iPod video before), but iTunes is a dealbreaker.

I'm glad to see other people agree with me. Whenever anyone hops on my computer and make fun of me for still using Winamp 2.0, i go off on a tirade about how shitty itunes is. Glad to see I'm not the only one.

Action: Installed the latest Itunes and Quicktime.
Consequence: Got buffer overun errors.
Result: Uninstalled the latest Itunes and Quicktime.
Reason: Buffer over errors, can be exploited because they are security risks
