TalkPlus welcomes iPhone users
It's pretty easy to have more than one phone number for folks to call you on your cell phone, but it's not so easy to place calls from more than one number. Enter TalkPlus, now available for iPhone. This service gives you a second local number that can be used to place calls on your cell phone, courtesy of the TalkPlus service. TalkPlus' software masquerades your outgoing telephone number by transmitting your call using VoIP, and their data center does the rest.iPhone users can access TalkPlus' suite of messaging and privacy features, which include a web-based visual voicemail and voicemail screening, which lets you listen while somebody is leaving you a message. Now that's just creepy cool. But the most useful feature is the second number, which needn't be in the same area code as your original cell phone number--so if you toggle between New York and London as a way of life, TalkPlus has you covered.

This is called GrandCentral - the service that Google now owns. I just got an invitation and it is slick. From the description, Talkplus is nothing but a rip-off clone of GrandCentral. Long Live Google.

Actually, TalkPlus is *similar* to GrandCentral, but they are not the same service. They do compete in certain respects but TalkPlus has been around since long before GrandCentral was even a glimmer in Google's eye. Even so, a little competition never hurts.

I don't know who Ted (above comment) is working for, or where he gets his facts, but it sounds fishy. And lets not forget: GrandCentral-FREE TalkPLus-$10/month. Google doesn't NEED to pay people to advertise/blogspam their products!

Grand Central is a good service and we at TalkPlus have great respect for Craig and Vincent (and the extended team) over at Google.
In addition to providing many of the features that Grand Central offers, TalkPlus also provides integrated mobile applications that allow users to easily place calls from their TalkPlus numbers and quick access to their visual voicemail on their mobile phone.
With our smartphone applications, users have full access to their existing contacts to place calls from, and they can quickly place calls from their TalkPlus numbers. TalkPlus users can also take advantage of low cost international dialing using our mobile applications.
TalkPlus is focused on serving business professionals such as lawyers and consultants who are looking to have separate numbers and call histories for their clients, doctors who want to call clients from their mobile phone but do not want to show their real cell phone number, and sales people who are tired of carrying a separate phone for business.
TalkPlus is subscription based service in order to provide consistent and high quality service for everyone without advertisements.
