Never ever delete email, Gmail storage increases
Running out of Gmail space already? How would you like some additional storage space so that you never, ever have to erase anything ever again? Well, everyone's wishes have been answered!Google has just announced standard Gmail accounts will get a storage increase as part of the Infinity+1 plan. Standard users will get a rough increase of about 1GB of space, plus creeping increases over time. While businesses and schools that are part of the Google Apps program will see storage increase to an unspecified amount (likely a few extra GB). Premier Edition users will notice a change from 10GB to 25GB, for the same fees they currently pay. ($50/user, per year)
With storage costs constantly decreasing and Google opening new datacenters all over the US, we're sure we will see changes in other areas as well, including Picasa, the rumored rebuild of Orkut 2.0, and among their numerous other acquisitions.

So now Gmail has about 3GB of free storage?
I feel sorry for them.
With Live Hotmail, I get 5GB of free storage. Not that I need it, considering I use only 1% of that. I personally like Live Hotmail the best. It's fast, simple, and nice.
With Y! Mail, it's unlimited. Pretty nice, eh?
So Gmail users must be a pretty sad bunch.

@ michael
Yes, very sad. Like when Gmail had 1GB and Hotmail had 10MB.
What difference does the size of the inbox make when you don't use the whole thing? I prefer having POP3 access to no access to my inbox (unless it's using some dodgy MSN program to access it). I also prefer tags to archaic folders. I also don't appreciate ads being inserted into my emails.

@alf: Live Hotmail does POP3 access too if you didn't notice.
And what are you talking about with 10MB? Reflecting on the far past or the present?
I don't think Live Hotmail adds ads to each e-mail. I always thought that was AOL or Y!.

Wow thats like a closet hotmail commercial. The difference between you and me? You have 5 Gig of SPAM I have 2 Gigs of real and useful email.
As for Yahoo...nothing like a web email service trying too hard to look like a really bad desktop client. It may have "unlimited" (everything is limited come on) space but you also get the SPAM and a really gaudy client.
