Never miss a Woot! with these handy trackers
If you're a fan of the deal-of-the-day Web site Woot! then you know Woot-offs (like, ahem, today!) are a big deal. That's when the deal-of-the-day becomes the "the deal that changes at random intervals throughout the day." There are some great bargains to be had -- if you have the time to babysit the site all day and wait for the new deal to be announced.
If you have, you know, a life, then download these handy Woot watcher tools and put them to work for you. The Windows-only Woot Agent pops up a notification on your screen when an item changes or sells out, while the Woot.com Widget for Mac lets you order the newest deal right from your dashboard.
What method do you use to make sure you never miss the Bandolier of Carrots?

For Windows users, there is also Wootalyzer (www.wootalyzer.com) that is extremely lightweight (12K of RAM). The only downside is that the included alarm is REALLY annoying - I mean, it gets the job done, but when I was running Windows, I had to replace it with something better.

The download package for WootAgent is bad...again. Their 2.0 release crashed repeatedly. The 2.5 release is incomplete. There is no installer. If you try to run WootAgent 2.5, it will start the update checker which hangs. WootAgent 1.0 worked properly. How difficult is it to create a proper installation package that doesn't crash?

Bah! WootAgent's site does mention you start it with the Update file, not the WootAgent file. I mute my complaint.

Hi Fred, all you need to do is click on the Update exe file when you unzip the zip file. It will work. 2.0 and 2.5 are stable. There isnt an installer. This runs out of whatever folder you place the unzipped files in. That is why it is not spyware or malware.
Try downloading the files, extracting them and then click on the update exe file. It will work like a charm.
