Download OpenOffice.org 2.3 a few days early
OpenOffice.org 2.3 will officially be released on Monday. But if you're the impatient sort, you can download it this weekend. The software has been distributed to download mirrors including OSUOSL a few days early in order to make launch day run a bit more smoothly. All you have to do is select OpenOffice.org 2.3, choose your operating system and language, and away you go. There are a ton of bug fixes and feature updates since OpenOffice 2.2 was launched. Here are just a few.
- New export filter for writing Wiki pages
- Spell check 1 letter words
- New chart wizard
- A whole slew of new local data including Jewish holidays in the US, and updated currency in Venezuela
- Language guessing for unknown text

I just attempted to download version 2.3 and received the following message: "The download you selected is not available. Please try again later."

It seems entry is already available in the file download manager but download is not already authorised.
Just need to wait for a few hours.

That's odd. I managed to download and install it without a problem. Maybe they took action after they started getting a lot of attention.

For those who get the "not available" message: You need to scroll down farther to find the Open Office download. What you tried to download was not the correct one. Look for the words OpenOffice.org 2.3.0 not BrOffice.org 2.3.0

I have Open Office 2.0
Does the upgrade install over it or do I need to uninstall the previous version.
Thanks in advance.
