Auction Ads gives you $25, you have to earn $25 more to get paid

Auction AdsIt looks like the folks over at Auction Ads have been busy since MediaWhiz acquired the company. Auction Ads is an online advertising service that lets you post ads for eBay auctions on your web site. Just enter a list of keywords for items you think your readers might be interested in, and every time someone clicks through and purchases an item you'll get a small cut of the sale price.

Last week the company announced a series of new features including:
  • New ad designs
  • Images look better in ads (they don't stretch or distort as much as they used to)
  • Increased uptime
This week the site announced another new feature. Every web publisher that signs up for an account gets $25 in free credit. If you've already registered for an account, but never quite made it to $25, you'll find your credit has also been bumped up to that level.

There is a catch. Auction Ads has also raised the payout limit. Previously, you had to earn $10 in order to receive payment (via PayPal). Now you need to $50 in your account when the end of the pay period rolls around. In other words, you can't just sign up and get $25 for free. You actually have to have a site that's popular enough generate another $25 in click-through revenue.
