But while you may have laughed, the folks at G4TV's Attack of the Show took action. They created MapsforUs.org, a web blog dedicated to maps. Users can e-mail maps of pretty much anything, from their high school parking lot to Sparta, to the blast door map from the TV show Lost.
There's something intrinsically interesting about maps, especially maps that show interesting places or show everyday locations in an unusual way. So while the blog was obviously created as a joke, it makes for pretty compelling reading. After the jump check out the videos that started it all.

Thank you for what you've done. US Americans were crying map-less tears and you've help bring them map-filled joy.
In fact, just today, one of them asked me where Tahti was and thanks to your help (and the maps of your readers) I was able to point him towards the internet to find his own way. It's best to let them learn for themselves that Tahiti no longer exists.

Is it just me, or is Miss Teen South Carolina exactly like "Weena" from the 1960 film The Time Machine? Remember? The last act of that movie is set like 70,000 years in the future and the human race has split into two species? The Eloi are pretty, painfully stupid people all with blond hair.
