Zoho launches online document viewer
Online office suite Zoho has launched a new document viewer. Unlike Zoho's word processor, spreadsheet, or presentation programs, you don't need to register for a free account to use Zoho Viewer.
Zoho Viewer accepts 15 common file formats including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files as well as OpenOffice, HTML, TXT, RTF, and PDF documents. If someone sends you an email with a file attachment you can't read, just download it to your desktop, then upload it to Zoho Viewer.
To a limited degree, you can also use Zoho Viewer as an online document conversion program. If you import a text-based file, you're presented with the option to export that file as a Word Document, an HTML file, or several other formats. If you upload a spreadsheet file, you're presented with similar options to export an HTML file or one that can be read by Excel or OpenOffice.
If you're looking for an all-in-one online file conversion solution, we'd still recommend Zamzar over Zoho. But Zoho Viewer could come in handy if you just need to read or edit a file or two, or if you're curious about Zoho's complete office suite but don't want to sign up for an account.
Just upload a document and you can view, edit, or share it by embedding the document in a web page.
