Peter, you are wrong. The app. didn't allow users to "upload" songs at any point. Although it could be a planned feature for the future.
Your analysis is also faulty in the sense that the audio app. was not different at all from current facebook apps. such as posted items (which is a built-in app. developed by facebook itself) to third party apps. like the Uber player - except in one key aspect. It allowed people to basically search a collection of other people's music and put it on their profile. That's what must have caused this trouble.
I know because I was an avid user from it's
fledgling days to the end times.
I really don't care that it has been removed because I can still upload mp3s on my own webspace and post them to my profile using posted items or other players.
