AT&T Wireless drops iPhone from main page

[Update: As readers are pointing out, the iPhone is appearing in various other, though sometimes obscure, areas of AT&T's site. We stated in our post that this could simply be nothing, so that fact should probably be reiterated given that this does seem to be a false alarm. Guess the version of the site in our screenshot could have easily been a fluke, capped in the middle of a redesign or who knows what else. Thanks for keeping us on our game everyone, as for now, there doesn't seem to be anything else to see here. Let's all move along.]
Of course, another possibility here is that the iPhone has received all the promotion it needs from AT&T. The device has arguably succeeded in Apple's marketing efforts to get it inserted into all the major media hubs, from the Today Show to Steven Colbert. Still, after adorning the pages of Cingular-turned-AT&T during the six month period since its announcement in January of this year, the iPhone's sudden disappearance from the main page and even the phone-specific page is raising our eyebrows.

I don't know what you are looking at, but from my connection to ATT or ATT Wireless (http://www.wireless.att.com) both have the iPhone on the front pages... prominently I might add.

Not sure what page you are looking at but it is on the ATT Wireless page http://www.wireless.att.com/home/

Perhaps I should've been more specific, but choosing Personal from that Home page sets the page we have pictured as your default, unless you chose Business at the top of the site or possibly clear out your cookies. This is arguably the page that most users see, and it's almost difficult to find the iPhone from here on out; even navigating to the Phones-specific page offers no mention of the iPhone anymore.

I went to http://wireless.att.com and the iPhone is listed there in plain view like the other above have stated.
I then clicked on the Personal Section http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/welcome/
and the iPhone is listed there as well.

Had no trouble finding the iPhone. You sure you were on AT&T, FUD FUD FUD!

Maybe they were in the middle of a redesign?

Yet another breaking news story for yet another blog wishing they were a real news organization. Lame. This is nothing but a desperate attempt to get traffic and ad revenue.

Hmm, I do see the iPhone on the entrance to AT&T Wireless (http://www.wireless.att.com/home/) and the consumer portal (http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/welcome/), but definitely nowhere in the list of phones (http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/cell-phones/cell-phones.jsp).

David, you're getting sort of wrecked on Digg (with this story you submitted) for being inaccurate. Frankly, whatever internet you're using is "broke," or sumthin'. The iPhone is still being placed prominantly on the AT&T site.
I mean, a simple test of www.att.com shows you an iphone. Then clicking on 'wireless' lands me on a page with an iPhone.
I guess you're looking to bolster your hypothesis but it's not true.

I have no iphone listed when i go to:
http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/cell-phones/cell-phones.jsp
but it's definetly on:
http://www.att.com/gen/landing-pages?pid=3308

AT&T doesn't actually sell the iPhone on their site. If you're trying to buy the iPhone, the links on the AT&T site redirect you to find an AT&T retail store. So, one would think, by the time you get to the list of all the other phones, you've had so many chances to click on an iPhone link that you must not be interested in one.

I type ATT.com in my browser and the front page spotlight features an Apple logo and a hand holding an iPhone. It could not be more prominent. The front page is considered obscure?
