Maxthon 2 web browser released
Firefox and Internet Explorer get most of the attention, but they're not the only web browsers out there. There's also Safari, Opera, and Konqueror. But if you want to try a web browser that is guaranteed to work with every page designed for Internet Explorer without actually you know, using Internet Explorer, you might want to check out Maxthon.
Maxthon is based on Internet Explorer, so it uses the same rendering engine. But it has dozens of features you won't find in Microsoft's web browser. Maxthon 2 has just been released after a long beta period, and it includes a whole slew of updates.
Here are just a few of Maxthon's cooler features

- Completely skinnable interface
- Integrated Ad-blocker, popup blocker and content filter
- Support for mouse gestures (navigate forward, backward, or between tabs by right clicking and moving your mouse in various patterns)
- Drag a link to open it in a new tab
- Built in feed reader

Amazing looking at that counter going up on the maxthlon site. Wonder how fast it would be on Firefox's site. :P

In all the talk about different web browsers, I don't see any any mention of Avant browser which is almost similar to Maxthon and which is really user friendly. Hope someone covers it. I am a big fan of it.

I tried the version listed in this posting and I was VERY dissappointed. I uninstalled it within an hour of installing it. I went back to the 1.6 build because it has groups and my groups did not show up in the 2. version.
Avant browser is a good one also btw.

im tired of browsers not being able to do everything!
i am currently running 4 .. going on 6
firefox(main customizable)
opera (security)
flock(people)
songbird (media browsing and playing)
now avant and Maxthon seem like good ways to get the ie compatibility problem that i run into using linux but i have no way to know which is better
anyone knows of firefox addons that can give me these features
(i like it that diversity creates the best programs but eh!)

never mind that they are not linux compatible
