Swopster: trade video games for free
There's plenty of sites out there that let users trade books, movies, CDs, and video games. But sometimes you want a site that does one thing and does it well.
Swopster is a community for video game fans looking to unload their old games. There are sections for PS3, PS2, PSX, PSP, Xbox 360, Xbox, Wii, DS, GBA, GameCube, and PC games. Sorry, no Dreamcast or Super Nintendo here.
First you enter a list of games you own, then you can let other users browse your catalog and explore the site for games you might want to play. Just select the game you're looking for and Swopster will connect you with users who have the game so that you can work out a trade. The service is free, but you'll have to pay for shipping.

I've never used it myself but Trade Games Now has been around for awhile and seems to do pretty much the same thing:

I have used tradegamesnow.com and Swopster before.
I HATE both!!
I do like http://www.iTradeVideoGames.com
They are free and probably the most reliable!

"...all for the low cost of one dollar per trade."
from the front page at iTradeVideoGames. Colin, is this wrong, or is your "they are free" comment a mistake?
Could anybody elaborate on why they like/dislike Swopster? I'd like to find a free service like this if possible -- I used to participate in GameTZ (back when they had a somewhat longer name), but nobody ever seemed to make any offers on my games. I have tons of older games that I wouldn't mind getting rid of, but they're worth more to me than the buck or two I'd get at a big-chain game store...

Hi - as the founder of Swopster, I'd just like to thank Brad for posting the article.
James - yeah, most of the feedback on Swopster has been extremely positive so I'd be very interested to hear anyone's reasons for not liking the service or if they have any suggestions on how I could improve it.
