Online radio fun with Tun3r

You can lie to yourself all you want, but the truth of the matter is this: looks matter. It's true, accept it. Whether it be another person, or a computer program, no one wants to sit and stare at something hideous for hours. Using software with an unattractive interface is like being out to dinner with a really ugly person. You're stuck sitting across from them, and as much as you'd like to not look them in the face at all, it's impossible to get done what you need to get done without at least taking a few glances. Note: Feel free to insert your own terrible hard drive joke right here.
The point is, if something looks neat, it's way more fun to play around with. The people at Tun3r have done just that for internet radio. They've created an interesting little Web 2.0 style interface they call "The Dial". It's a mosaic of hundreds of popular radio stations that you can sample from. Dragging the tuner to one of the little pictures brings up the stations information, including its recent playlist and gives you the option to sample it. If you like it you can then launch the station. The site also allows you to search for a certain artist, and it will display the stations that have played the artist recently. Sure, it may not be the most groundbreaking thing to hit internet radio recently, but it's a slick little tool that you might have some use for. It's kind of pretty, and the rules of life state that you have to do whatever pretty things/people tell you to do. So get on it.

very nice, but on July 15 it will be a blank page unless we can convince Congress to fix the new copyright rates that will put most of these stations out of business. Visit http://www.savenetradio.org/ and contact your representatives and ask them to support The Internet Radio Equality Act before it's too late.
