Apple releases iTunes 7.3, just in time for the iPhone
Apple has unleashed the iTunes 7.3 update, and as guessed, it contains support for the iPhone. If you're an iTunes user, or a soon to be iPhone owner, the time has come to update your iTunes yet again. This new edition provides support for updating and managing the iPhone as well as a few new features. There is also a menu for iPhone help with manuals and tutorials, which link out, but are unfortunately not online as of yet.
Rumors are buzzing around that custom ringtones are also supported with the new iTunes. When a song is selected for a conversation, an interface comes up that allows you to pick a 30 second clip.

Is there anything in this for non-iPhone users, or am I downloading 50mb (yet again) for absolutely nothing?

Im pretty sure non iPhone users are just downloading it for fun. I havent been able to find anything new from 7.2 besides the iPhone goodies.
But it also seems to place numbered artists at the bottom of the library instead of the top like in previous.

iPhone is a revolutionary new mobile phone that allows you to make a call by simply pointing your finger at a name or number in your address book, a favorites list, or a call log

That was fun ... but some of you people higher up in the comments have a serious jealousy problem. The lady doth protest too much. The only reason to be so hateful is because you're reacting emotionally, not logically -- and what reason do you have to hate the iPhone? It's a product. Products have pluses and minuses. This product you don't even own yourself. If you can't handle an aggressive sales pitch, do everyone a favor: take a deep breath and calm down.
