Microsoft acquires majority stake in GlaxoSmithKline
Microsoft announced today that it has acquired a majority stake in pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said at a press conference, "This is adding true and immediate value for our shareholders."
"Windows Vista is the #1 source of indigestion for IT professionals world wide, the addition of the #1 producer of over the counter antacids seemed a natural fit to Microsoft's current business model," added Microsoft's energetic leader.
Shares of MSFT were up 15% on the news, and analysts across the board came out in support of the announcement. "It's a solid move that should drive tremendous profits for MSFT in 3rd and 4th quarter '07 as IT professionals everywhere attempt in vein to assimilate Windows Vista into their organizations"
