first thing you do with vista [if you're computer savvy] is turn off UAC. then go to the Security Center and change how it notifies you about it not being on so it doesn't bug you about not being enabled [as if you didn't disable it in the first place]. of course you need to make sure you know what you're doing and not download harmful crap. in that case, the only really great thing about vista is the visual stuff since the security stuff was supposed to be its biggest selling point. the sidebar is handy if you take advantage of it. everything is all mixed up in the control panel that for some reason M$ can't stop f***ing with. there are still lots of bigs to work out, but it has some potential.
for me, i stick w/ XP x64 for now. we'll see about Vista after SP1 comes out, along with a price drop maybe...we may be waiting a few years on that though.
