Easiest YouTube downloads ever
There are roughly 157,213 web sites out there that provide you with one method or another for downloading videos from YouTube. But we've never seen one that's easier to use than KissYouTube. Why's that? Because here's all you have to do to save a YouTube video as an .flv file:
- Find a video you want to download on YouTube.
- Enter "kiss" in the URL before "youtube.com."
- Hit enter.
Of course, what you'll wind up with is an .flv file, so you might be better off with a service that converts the file for you.

Thanks, that's a great idea! And actually, there might be no need for "a service that converts the file" either. Have you tried FLV player (its free)?

Good find, but to be honest, I don't think even the simple method above is as easy as this one.
http://www.youtubex.com/
Just copy and paste the link it and press 'get video'
Bingo.
No need to type KISS into the subject line with that one.

Ahh David, it's a bit quicker and easier to click on the address bar and type KISS and press enter, rather than highlight the url, copy it, go to a new website (keepvid does the same thing), paste the link and click a link.

I personally use http://1024k.de/bookmarklets/video-bookmarklets.html which is a bookmarklet and greasemonkey script for other sites besides just YouTube. It is cross-platform and it displays a yellow "information"-type bar at the top that says something to the effect of "Click here to get download links."
It seems to work very well.
After reading some comments, I now see just how many different ways there are to download videos...

~~~~~A better solution~~~~~~
Usually you need websites or scripts that tracks you, or it's difficult to setup and may not be compatible with IE, etc.
Besides, how can you play or convert them? Some codecs may not be available to play and convert them.
But I have found out one solution to solve all this. Use ZillaTube - from http://www.zillatube.com
Just one software to use - to grab youtube video, convert them easily (with good quality video options), etc... cool!
Hope this helps
