YouTube to release TV classics
Digital Music Group, an online distributor of independently owned entertainment material, has announced that it will be releasing over 4,000 hours of classic television shows onto YouTube. This deal will also see YouTube activate filtering technology that will identify which video content is being used without authorization on the site. DMG will also see a portion of the ad revenue that YouTube generates from showing the videos online when they're released in the next few weeks. Shows on the list include classic television episodes of Gumby, I Spy, My Favorite Martian, and Peter Gunn. This deal is one of the first to allow the release of full-length shows on YouTube.
