Shortly after the "Wow" started in a Toronto subway station, J Carlos Navea spotted this on his way to class. A wall length Vista advertisement which had fallen to
While some street art can be absolutely beautiful, we wish the Linux faithful in T.O. would keep the spray paint in their backpack and do some constructive Linux evangelism. We'd rather see you organize an install-fest, refurbish and reload unwanted PCs and give them to interested users, or give away Linux CDs.

right, this is one of those things that can help or hurt. it gets linux in the mindspace of the average dingus, but at what cost? are they going to associate linux with vandals?
similar to rabid mac fanboys who give Apple a bad name!

Outside of the Microsoft Vista Ice House at Dundas Square on Friday I saw some Linux guys with a big inflatable penguin and handing out cds of Ubuntu and talking about Linux with people passing by.
When I came out of the Ice House their penguin had been forced to leave.

So the idea was to make life miserable for some poor subway worker? Brilliant. That'll teach those guys.
Get yer ass down there and clean off that ad.

Odds are people who know what Linux is will chuckle, and those who do not will forget about it within 5 minutes.

I don't know what's sadder here, the graffiti, or the geek who lives in his mom's basement.

Well...to let everyone know, the portion of the wall that had "Linux" written on it, is now stripped off (so now it's just the tiles showing...)
