Who knows. Right now it is only a hunch, a rumor, an idea up in the stratosphere. Interestingly enough, it might end up as part of Apple's strategy to infiltrate the golden kingdom of Microsoft. Safari coming to Windows would be a good move on Apple's part, and it would be great for users who like Safari and wish it was available for Windows. Will it ever happen? Oddly this idea comes to us
via Mary Jo Foley, via the Mozilla wiki. Why would Mozilla even hint at this if they didn't have some sort of idea what might happen. I suppose all speculation and rumors are basically what could happen, but there has to be some ring of truth to them to at least become possibilities. This move for Apple certainly worked for iTunes and many other products that they are using to try to take over some of Microsoft's customers. So, why not? Safari on Windows just has a nice ring to it. Check out the whole deal over at Mary Jo Foley's blog and note the poll on the subject at the bottom of the page. What do you think about Safari on Windows? Good idea, bad idea?

Firefox on Mac is a clunky joke. OmniWeb is by far the best browser on OS X and it easily eclipses Firefox or IE's functionality and features.

I find it's interesting the consensus here is that most of you (the above) wouldn't like to see Safari come to Windows or that it would not be as useful as Firefox.
If you look at the voting record on Mary Jo's Blog (down at the bottom of the page) and click on Results, you will see a huge 64 % of voters wish to see Safari come to Windows.
This being the case, I don't know what to make of things.
I love Open Source and Cross Platform software. If a program is good, I'd like to at least try it before passing judgment.
I'm a Windows guy, just because I have never really been exposed to the Apple world. I understand Apple does excel in some areas an IBM PC Clone is lacking. I would like to see the "pretty graphics" of this Safari browser. I use Firefox because it exceeds the security and usefulness of even the latest Internet Explorer 7.
