Yahoo! has released
some previews of its newly rebuilt Messenger application for Windows Vista. Yahoo! built this version of Messenger from the ground up, and uses pretty much all of features you are used to, but with a few little tricks. Features in the new Vista version include instant messages, voice, and video. Contacts from your Live Messenger can be added to Yahoo!, and you can see and interact with them as expected. Conversations can be organized with tabs through dragging and dropping. Of course there will be some added eye and ear candy with additional emoticons, sounds and interface customization. Yahoo! has a video preview of the Messenger application running in Vista, which you can check out
here. Pretty cool! Yahoo has been really going all out lately trying to steal back some market share, and I'm sure they will steal some with this rebuild. Good job Yahoo!

I a very longtime owner of the WIN-TEL (DOS 1.x, Windows 3.1/95/98/ME/NT/2000/2003/XP) PCs and Servers, I am also a beta tester for Long Horn, Vista RC1/RTM but I am not a Vista bias and a blinded user. These are a few true facts about the Windows Vista for the PC owners who want to change from XP to VISTA:
-- Don't ever fool yourself into believing that the Windows Vista:
1) "is not slow and it isnt bloated".
2) "is actually faster and easier to use than XP is and will ever be".
-- Current Vista RTM is Defintely NOT FASTER than XP when you compare the XP & VISTA that operate on the same identical PC configurations.
I loaded a VISTA ULTIMATE on my Antique PC (PENTIUM-4 2.8GHZ , 1GB PC3200-DDR, ATA WD-HD 200 Gig-7200RPM-16Meg RAM buffer, 256 Meg/DiectX9 ATI-Radeon 9600-PRO Video card). This configuration is exceed the Microsoft requirement for Vista Premium Ready PC(1 GHz CPU, 1 Gig RAM, 40 GigaB HD, 128Meg/DiectX9 Video card).
My Antique PC because works fast when it loaded with Windows XP/Pro or XP-MCE. When it is loaded with Windows Vista Ultimate, my Antique PC works much slower, slows to response to user input, all program executions take much longer to finish. I hated my Antique PC when it is loaded with Windows Vista. I think my mouth is a little bit wider because of the constant cursings after months of VISTA beta testings.
-- The Windows Vista works better on a newer PC configuration (AMD 64 X2 dual core 4400+, 3 Gig RAM DDR2-667, Serial WD-HD 200Gig-16MegRAM buffer, ATI Radeon X1800 CROSSFIRE/PCIE/512 MEG RAM VIDEO card).
I like the Vista aero eye-candies. It does have a similar looks and feels of the Apple MAC OS X. The Vista does look nicer than XP but I don't think VISTA works that much better than XP. VISTA does a good jobs of hiding advanced features from all users with the intention to protect novice users from shooting themsevles in the foot. But that feature and the protected excution is annoying to advanced users because it adds extra steps and hoops that we have to do..
-- UPDATE your old PC if you want to use WINDOW VISTA unless your PC configuration is equal or better than my new PC configuration.
