BandChemistry is a free social network built specifically for musicians to unite with fellow music lovers. Users can locate potential bandmates and fellow musicians to form a band or to meet fellow musicians and chat. Users can also listen to music created by fellow BandChemistry users, and upload their own to show off. The site also provides music industry news, email updates, and photos. A site discussion board lets users toss around ideas, tips, comments or special announcements. BandChemistry rolled out the site in the summer of this year, so it's still a small growing social network, but one that could definitely help out musicians on their journey of music creation.

I'm not sure how I see this as all that different from Last.FM except for being able to unite with other band members. But that can easily be solved by a group or forum post on Last.FM. Not to mention the website layout is quite funky.

This seems to work on user content rather than proprietary content.
