The folks at Yahoo! have added a little feature to Yahoo! Mail that recognizes addresses and phone numbers. The new
features will automatically recognize and underline all phone numbers and addresses in mail messages, and easily get directions or view locations. The new feature will also allow for the ability to instantly add addresses to your address book. Google's Gmail has had this feature for a while, however they have taken a much more subtle approach by tossing a link in the corner. So with this new Yahoo Mail feature, I hereby announce the start of email wars. Challenging Google, Yahoo!, and MSN to come up with and release some additional helpful features for its users. What would you like to see added to online email applications to make your communications easier? How about some folders in Gmail? Or a notepad?

Folders in Gmail? What's the point? What I want is tabs in Gmail, so if I want to refer to one message while composing a new one I don't have to open one in a pop-up window.

I want an option in GMail that lets me flag specific people in my contacts to where I can force Gmail to show a specific outbound address for those people, and not use my normal default choice. I have a few addresses and use Gmail to send mail, and I don't want some of my contacts to discover my other address. Thanks.

If Gmail had tabs and FOLDERS it would be perfect in my opinion. I'm not a fan of the everything in the inbox. I use both Yahoo and Gmail, but if those things were changed I'd use Yahoo a lot less.

Too bad this feature is NOT implemented in Yahoo! mail beta. Why would Yahoo! create a new feature and only put it in the dated Y! mail classic rather than the new beta test???
