Firefox and its little bug
It's not very often that you hear of a bug attack with Firefox. A new little bug popped up in the newly released Firefox 2.0. It's only the second one though, so no biggie, it is a new version, and little things like this can happen. The newest Firefox bug can cause the browser to crash if the webpage a user is visiting has been intentionally coded to target the bug via JavaScript. The initial bug in Firefox that was found also caused the browser to crash when an extremely large document loaded into an iframe. There has been no release from Mozilla stating when a fix will be in place. Firefox 2.0, and IE7 have been under the microscope since their recent launches, with bystanders waiting patiently at the sidelines wondering which new browser they should test the waters with first.Yes, that is an actual picture of what a Firefox bug looks like when code is zoomed up on at 598,005,002 X.

I think the bug is more serious than the post suggests. Firefox 2 has crashed more times in a week than previous versions did in a year.

I agree. Firefox 2 has been disappointingly unstable. I understand that it's a new release, but you should have to step back to move forward. I hope they fix this soon...not that I'll be switching back to IE anytime soon.

Well, if that's the case, judging by the missing antenna and hind leg, even the bugs could use some debugging.

Agreed - never had a fox 2.0 crash yet, and I've used it rigorously (far too many extensions, viewing poorly designed pages etc.). Like gimbus said - knock on wood.
Update: repost, after firefox crashed.
just kidding.

Firefox2 has crashed on me 8 x today. WTF? I don't see how Firefox 1 can advance into crap. I for safe measure have been now using IE7. Hasn't crashed yet. Firefox really needs to do something with this fast.

How can you be sure of how often I hear about Firefox bugs? Being involved in IT security I pay attention to browser security and take note of the greater than 2:1 ratio of critical vulnerabilities when comparing Firefox to Internet Explorer in independent industry-standard tests.
I also take note of how they (Firefox security holes) almost never make it to popular news, and of how much longer it takes to repair them.

After downloading Firefox 2.0, my iMAC G4 began to freeze and crash more and more. Now the hard drive is dead and the computer can no longer be turned on. Has anyone else experienced this?
