I can see using audio for participation in podcasts and such (like the first comment), but I don't see the point in adding it to a website/blog/myspace - why not just add video? There's a big stigma on the web about audio that started with background music on Geocities websites, although it is somewhat diminished with the popularity of adding music to one's myspace page (which I find just as annoying as horrible MIDIs on a personal website).
So, no, I don't think that audio is the next big thing omg. Why should it be?
