MusicForMe cracks AllOfMP3's MusicForMasses DRM
Last week I reported on MusicForMasses, a new program from questionable Russian online music retailer AllOfMP3 that lets you download and listen to every song in their expansive library for free, provide you use their very limited Windows player that requires a net connection. Well, as I predicted in that post, it didn't take long for someone to figure out how to get around MusicForMasses' DRM. The cheekily-named MusicForMe is a program that strips out whatever protections AllOfMP3 is using on its free MP3s and turns them into plain old MP3 files that you can play in the player of your choice. Now, given that AllOfMP3 is of questionable legality in the first place, using MusicForMe is undoubtedly all kinds of illegal, not to mention of entirely unknown origin and infested with who knows what, so under no circumstances do I recommend that you download it from this link. I did try it out myself, though--in the name of science, of course--and it seems to have worked flawlessly. One caveat is that the resulting files have names like "00E117A8.mp3," but their ID3 tags are intact and accurate, so an MP3-renaming program should make short work of them. Seriously, though, MusicForMe is probably totally illegal and possibly dangerous, so use it at your own, not insignificant, risk.
[Thanks, Josh!]
Update: As a number of readers have point out, the original download link is busted. The author has released an updated version of MusicForMe, which includes the MusicForMasses program. Reader Josh says that this program does the same thing as MusicForMe, but works better. I haven't tested either program, much less screened them for viruses, so as always use at your own risk and don't blame me if things go south.

After roaming through their catalogue and ordering every second album they got I received the following message:
Ordering is temporarily disabled. We are sorry, but the ordering is currently disabled. The site is undergoing scheduled maintenance. Please check back later.
I think they keep a limit on how many free downloads you order. I have two accounts on there and I tried ordering from my second account and everything worked fine...

Anyone got a link that's NOT on RapidShare? I can't use it because my ISP sucks. Thanks :)

Just logged on to allofmp3.com , checked my balance and
downloaded a full album at 192 kbps with no problems at all.
Despite what some people are saying, i've never had a problem logging on to allofmp3 and do it regularly.
Hopefully it will stay that way.

Ok. I suck, I know. I have downloaded the improved version. Installed. And in the hack zip I have two files fmod.dll (20k) and fmod_original.dll (160k). When I replace the one in the dir with the fmod.dll from zip it crashes. What do I have to do to make it work ?
Thanks!

Yeah, I got the original MusicMe working, but I have the trouble of renaming the songs and using the .bat file.
I thought that the new version skipped all that ?

looks like they are back online, has anyone tested to see if the mp3s work?

Hi...right, I've tried downloading MusicForMasses from Allofmp3, but the programme doesn't run on my PC. I've downloaded the updated programme, above, but can't get that to work, either (though I've no idea what a .rar file is, I'm new to all this!)
Additionally, when downloading the free mp3x files from Allofmp3, I can only download two...thereafter a box comes up saying a connection with the server cannot be established. After rebooting, I can download another two, with nothing happening. That never used to happen when I used to pay for the songs!
Any suggestions?

As a musician- that has enjoyed endless days in the studio--- and then has trouble making any return on what is spent, let alone a profit or income...tell me the logistics of how it is good for my music that nees to be sold...to be hacked and downloaded for FREE?
MARLOWEOct 26th 2006 5:25PM
as a msuician/writer/producer/arranger/of acoustic music-- tell me how any of this is good for the local starving musician. I use and send my own stuff over the internet- I love all sorts of tech advances--- but do people that hack to get FREE versions of what is supposed to be making a living for musicians--ever BUY anything because of how excited they get by the music? Or is this all a tech geek game. Does anyone here actually love music and the integrity of how they got it?

Well, I don't know about you, Mr. Marlowe, but I'm certainly not endorsing it. If it helps you sleep at night, know that none of your music is in AllOfMP3's library.

for the users who have problems connecting to allofmp3.
the provider tele2 was sued, and is no longer allowed to route data to the allofmp3 site.
i don“t know if this also happened with other providers...

I am getting an error message every time I try to use MusicforMasses. This is a fresh install with no hack. I get "Can't open file. It is not exist or corrupted" I get this on all files I have downloaded. It was working but has since stopped. Not sure but I had done some windows update stuff. But that was before I started having problems. They mostly seemed to have started when I upgraded from .52 to .53 of client.

Hi @ll
I have a little problem starting the program MusicforMasses.
It says "Can not init resource".
What did I wrong? I just installed it with the setup.exe in the rar archive.
