Metronome Online
Are you a musician, or would you like to be one day? If you find yourself wanting to practice your instrument, whatever it might be, and you happen to be without every musician's best friend, a metronome, consider using an online one from Metronome Online. Thankfully the makers of Metronome Online, emusicinstitute.com, did not succumb to the temptation to deck out this virtual metronome with all sorts of unneeded extras. Instead, it's a very faithful replication of a tried and true tool. Simply choose the speed you would like to play at in beats per minute, and away you go. There are three colors to choose from, and you can tune your instrument to an A440 tone, just like any good metronome would provide. It's sad to say, but I'm more likely to be near a computer when I want to play my upright bass (it's a long story) than I am to happen to have my metronome near me, and actually have working batteries in it, so I'll be keeping this site in mind for sure.
Thanks to reader James for the tip.
