Windows Live Messenger problems? Here's a fix.
Ed Bott is probably my favorite person to read when it comes to covering Windows and other Microsoft software. Today I noticed a little post he had regarding a way to fix Windows Live Messenger in case you find yourself unable to log in. I didn't think much of it, until my wife asked me why she hadn't been able to log in to her messenger for a few days. I quickly went back and read Ed's tip, then logged in remotely to her machine and deleted the registry key mentioned, and voila - she's back online. So if you're having problems with your Messenger, the registry key you want to delete is:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger\Policies
Give it a shot - it might well fix your problem!

can someone help me i dont even know how to get to the registry key thing to be able to delete it = [

Does this fix the problem of windows live messenger on startup send load of date so much that it lock the pc
or is this another problem i have
No matter what pc i log onto msn live it happens

I use Trillian to log into MSN with no issues - Live messenger connection troubleshooter says all is good to go but I still do not get logged in using LM.
fact is its just another POS from Microsoft. Funny how people are so complacent that they just accept the fact that MS products come equipped with flaws.....

When i try to use windows live messenger 8 or 8.1. it says that it can not start audio and video tunning . every thing else works . I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it still does not work help please thanks.

I am not able to see or send webcam and call, can u help me in this regard, i have reinstalled windows live messengre 2 times but problem is as it is.
