If you’re saying we can’t trust the Corporations to simply imitate life in a natural, unobtrusive way and not SPAM the content to death by butchering the artist’s intent with product place adnausium, then your right! I say to bad for them if they can’t implement product placement in a natural, real life way. I see it as the silver bullet to their DRM woes.
What’s the alternative? A never ending battle and billions of wasted dollars in a “I create a new DRM scheme and some werewolf name Jon breaks, reverse engineers or adds his own “for sale DRM?”. Remember, content seeks ubiquity and as long as the human eye can see it and the ear can hear it, it will be “have-able” and after all isn’t that the point? (i.e. yes I want many to see, hear and enjoy my work). So stop trying to patch the never ending holes in the bucket and just paint the water green and let it floooooow. The current course of action is just plain silly I tell ya, and it’s a battle that they JUST WON’T WIN!
