Microsoft releases Messenger for Mac 6.0
Microsoft has released version 6.0 of its chat client Messenger for Mac. This version, like the previous one, requires Mac OS X 10.3 or later. New features include custom emoticons, integration with Yahoo! IM contacts, the ability to display the currently playing iTunes song (a la iChat), and the option to have multiple contact list windows (this may be helpful in decreasing the likelihood of accidentally sending a steamy IM to your boss instead of your significant other). Additionally, if you're using Live Communications Server, you get the added benefits of secure chat, encrypted file transfers. Oh, and did I mention it's a universal binary version? Add one more to the list of apps that will run natively on Intel Macs. (Thanks, Spluch!)

Not sure how many mac people would resort to a windows messenger unless forced to...

Hooray, Microsoft was nice enough to add features that absolutely no one freaking uses, the ability to communicate with the communications server. Forget building compatability for the iSight camera. Not to mention the Live features are not supported by Safari or Camino

the truth is i just got a mac and it is a pain i am sorry, everytime i have a situtation i have to go and complain to the maker about why it doesn't work with my mac. if mac is it's own system from pcs, then why don't they have their own messenger supported by their system. i mean come on , it is called microsoft for windows!!!! that is all i feel it's all a complain. there are features you can't use the mac offers that are so cool and i have to try to see who supports it with programs that work around windows. sorry for the complaining but the truth is it's macs responsibility not the other systems!!!!
