Line Rider - Today's Time Waster
Today's Time Waster isn't a game, per se, but it's a lot of fun. Line Rider is more of a physics toy. You start out with a blank white space and a line tool, and are encouraged to draw a diagonal line from the top left to the bottom right. What you're really doing is drawing a hill for a little scarfed figure to toboggan down. The physics seem reasonably accurate for a Flash game. You can send your little sledder careening off of jumps, but if the course is too rough he'll be thrown from his sled. Like I said, Line Rider isn't a game--there's no score, time limit, or any goal, but as a plaything it succeeds, allowing you to test your hill-engineering mettle with majestic jumps, or feed your sadistic side with sheer cliffs and unforgiving drops. There aren't a lot of options--just draw, clear, go, and stop (an eraser tool is sorely missed), but Line Rider does have a save option that lets you set aside your favorite lines for later.[Via Waxy.org]
