I believe I have made known previously the fact that I rather dislike Caps Lock. Though it is essential for some specialized applications, for most of us Caps Lock lies somewhere between obnoxious and dangerous. There is, however, a cure, for Windows at least:
waNOCAPS is a quick registry patch that will turn the unwanted key into a conveniently-located third Ctrl key. waNOCAPS is free and comes with a companion patch that will reverse the changes.

I'm a thinkpad user and the models I used didn't have a Windows key. So I converted my CAPS LOCK to a Windows key using a utility called SharpKeys from http://www.randyrants.com/sharpkeys.
Very convenient!
