Xdrive is live
Last month we told you that AOL would be giving away 5GB of web storage space to anyone who has an AOL screenname. Well it's true, Xdrive is now available, and I don't have an exclusive scoop or anything, I just went to the site and signed in. The service looks good. It is nothing like the old Xdrive service of past years (which is a good thing). The web interface is nice, and the site is available to Windows, Mac, and Linux users. Today's Xdrive is feature packed and well worth the free price tag, in fact at $9.95 a month, the 50GB drive is worth it too. You can opt to sign-up for the yearly payment plan, and you'll pay $99.50 (2 months free). Xdrive sports a built-in music player for your music, special photo features, mobile viewing and faxing of documents (from your cell), and even allows you to setup automated scheduled backups when you download the Xdrive desktop client. I had a small hiccup installing the desktop client, but it did end up working just fine.
Welcome screen.

The actual file management interface on the web.

I am having exactly the same experience as Rob above.
Using the automated backup facility I keep getting error 2151 and it seems to be only when uploading a biggish (>20MB) file. The irritating thing is that you can search the xdrive help system resources for error 2151 and you get ZERO information.

Thank you for this service. I was also concerned that there is no way to contact xdrive, there is no mention of the cost of the upgraded package on their site and the forums are "down for maintenance". I need the 50 G back up but won't sign up with xdrive based on the experiences your folks have shared. Thanks again!

I had the same problem described by Rob Error 2151 (Sorry, but you have not been logged in properly. Please log in again.)
Guess you get what you pay for...
Databarrack's/boomerang looks good value and offers a free trial (http://pob.databarracks.com/boomerang/prices/)

Trying to cancel Xdrive is painful.
Their service provider sent me an email that said I had to call 866.469.3743 the number was for an apartment finding service. They indicated that they get calls for xdrive all day long. I did manage to extract the correct number and cancel my account, but it was unnecessarily painful and time consuming.
I can't be sure if the obsticle to cancelling was the blame of xdrive or the service provider.

You can add me to the list of annoyed users, or rather, attempted user. Same issue - error 2151 (a search for same led me here). Clearly stupid on AOL's part, generating unnecessary animosity.
