Intel's first quad-core chip tested

INtel's quad-coreTom's Hardware has been given the chance to test out Intel's first quad-core chip. The chips are not expected to be out before the end of the year, and will only show up in high-end systems at first, but it seems that that chips will start to offer some serious muscle, as they house 4 2.66Ghz cores and according to Tom's CPU benchmarks on the site, the chip is rated at a 1333MHz front-side bus speed, which isn't too shabby. All the specs are showcased on Tom's Hardware, including the L2 cache, clock speed, instructions sets supported, and all the other details.
