No, I didn't spell it wrong, I meant "godcast" not "podcast." A new trend in religious circles is the godcast. See, I told you. As you might imagine, this is the weekly sermon, teaching or other Church service available on your iPod in podcast form.
Godcast1000.com wants to help you put "God on your pod" and is apparently one of the largest godcasting sites
according to the LA Times. Many churches are now starting podcasts of their entire service, or of just the sermon portion.
Either way listeners can carry "church" with them everywhere they go, which is helpful when traveling or home sick. This growing trend is another way that religious folks can keep in touch and feel connected to what is going on back home. Things that make you go "they can do that?"

Cool. It's nice to see that Christians are embracing technology.

I feel obliged to point out that The Godcast Network at godcast.org formed about two years ago, so it's not really that new a term or concept.
I'm over 600 episodes into my Bible reading podcast (a member show of the Godcast Network), so it's a little bemusing to read about us finally embracing technology. :)

My church has a Podcast and I pray they never change the name to Godcast. Sounds too cheesy.
Have 4 BayAreaFellowship Podcasts on my iPod right now....my church rocks.

What's new - we have Godcasts in Africa - Cape Town. God uses the internet - He sneeked in when He saw this technology and - He saw it and it was good. Interesting that God still uses Apples today to talk to us!

@rasbill; Neither, God is "just" (as in 'justice') and merciful. Ex: http://www.explorefaith.org/punishment.html

Another site like this is http://www.oneplace.com/
The churches I've worked with have mostly hosted their own MP3 sermons. It's a growing trend for churches to communicate with communities based on their communication preferences. I remember when Biola University held their "GodBlog" conference last year... Christians are finally trying to make use of the Internet.

This is exactly what I would like to get started at my Church.
Thanks for posting it.
